Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The house of the architect Sep Ruf (1908-1982) was built 1952-1955 in Gmund am Tegernsee. It has large wooden furnishings and many pieces of wooden furniture. The Master’s thesis pays close attention to a possible complete documentation of the stock of furnishings and furniture and its condition. The individual objects and its damages are inventoried and will be cataloged in a list by using record sheets. The most characteristic damages are summarized and explicated. The design of the furniture of Sep Ruf is almost not researched and will be shown in selected examples. The influences by other designers will be considered. A variety of materials and surface treatments are shown. Final recommendations for the documentation of the stock of wooden furnishings and for its treatment will show the way to a future restoration.
