Abstract: The diploma thesis focuses on the art-technological and conservation-technical examination of the panel paintings of the late Gothic Annenretabel from the Lutheran Trinitatiskirche in Hainichen, Saxony.
Climatic fluctuations resulted in the warping of the panels and damage to the corner joints of the frames. The appearance of the painting is disturbed by various overlays. The application of a drying oil on the workday side resulted in a strong darkening of the painting layer.
The focus of the work is on the development and implementation of a suitable removal method for the oil coating.
