Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: A wide-rim bowl from the Hallstatt period made of bronze is to be restored for second time. Methods of presenting this are discussed. The decision for the removal of the old supplementary epoxy resin and how to exhibit the fragmented object with the aid of a support construction made of stainless steel are put into practice and explained. This is followed by a discussion of epoxy resins and means of removal in restorating work. Tests using solvents, solvent gels, laser technology, microwaves, changed temperatures and high-pressure extraction by means of CO2 are described and discussed, talking the practical example of Araldite XW 396/397 (Araltite 2020).
