Within the scope of the diploma thesis, an art-technological and conservation-technical examination of a carved and silver-plated console from the Parade Bedroom of the Electress of the New Schleißheim Palace was carried out. Based on the results of the investigation, a concept for conservation and restoration was developed and implemented. The focus of this practical as well as theoretical work deals with the handling and treatment of blackened silver leaf on wooden supports. Methods of reconversion such as electrolytic processes and the use of cold plasmas on test specimens as well as original mounts were tested and finally a risk assessment was carried out.
