Overview:

Abstract: This work contains the analysis of one of the Romanesque wall paintings in the St. Ursula Chapel in the church St. Marien and Potentinus in the monastery of Kloster Steinfeld. Based on the examination of the wall painting, the condition of the object was documented and a conservation programme was developed. The main emphasis beside the measures of conservation was put on the retouching of the wall painting. Different methods of retouching were carried out on dummies so that the best type could be chosen. Finally, the results were carried out on three samples on the wall painting.
