Abstract: This thesis documents the studies of the Three Kings group situated on the eastern outer side of the Three Kings chapel of Naumburg cathedral. The four extant figures are from the time around 1416 and are made of limestone. The aim of the thesis is to pretend a concept for subsequent conservation and restoration based on the results of the study. The first section of the thesis presents the identification and description of the object and sums up the restoration history of the group. In addition to the description of the characteristics of the limestone, the second section mainly documents the technological / restorative studies with regard to the damage phenomena and their causes and presents the conservation concept.
