Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: In 1877 Frederick Walton created the Lincrusta-wallcovering. The walls of some rooms in the railway saloon-cariage of the German emperor were decorated with Lincrusta, which has been damaged in the course of more than a hundred years. In the present paper historical, artistic and technical problems are discussed. Furthermore, reports in restoration work are given and proposals to its continuation are made.
