Overview:

Abstract: If wooden stairs are marred in such a way, that there is risk for the user, measures have to be taken. The first part of the essay is about damages and current methods for maintenance of wooden stairs. Then the author describes a new method, how to shape damaged areas by the help of a router and special accessories and make exact inlays. Thereby the contour exactly follows the limit of the damage. That is why there can be conserved a maximum of original substance and traces of the former abrasion. In the end the method is tested on an entire staircase.
