Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: Subject of this thesis is the conservation and restoration of a „Kinemacolor“ -camera. By a literary investigation ist´ importance for Colourkinematographie and its value for film- and technology history is proved. Starting point of the paper is the massive fungal attack and its identification. Decay appearances of the different materials, which are caused by attack, are analysed. The examination of the metals, especially aluminium and its alloys, gives a special emphasis. The reaction of corrosion and different damage appearances - especially filiform corrosion - are closely contemplated. Considering the poor access to specialized literature, the conservation treatment took place. Preservation measures of the damaged organic substances as well as supplementaries for stabilizing the materials and understanding the object were necessary.
