Zusammenfassung: About 1510/15 the Lower Rhine artist Jan Baegert did produce his early work, the Lady Mary and Passion Cycle. It consists out of panel paintings which were anciently painted double- sided, after a decomposition of the panels they do today exist separated. Fifteen of these paintings could be used for sets of scientific examinations and studies of art history. On the basis of the results the matching of the panel sides and their succession in the cycle were allocated. Originally four panels each did compose the wings of a changeable altar retable – in the development of which at least one more hand besides Jan Baegert was involved. The use of comprehensive artwork funds and further indices suggest a remarkable size of Jan Baegert’s studio. In order to present his work in the Citymuseum of Münster adequately, different proposals were offered and two exhibition concepts were elaborated.
