Zusammenfassung: The treated object is a painted and carved wood preserved in fragments, belonging to the ethnological collection of Kulturhistorisches Museum of Rostock. The artwork is probably the end part of a handle of a dance axe referred to Tolai people living on island of New Britain (Papua New Guinea). Traditional precolonial as well as modern materials and tools were used.
