Zusammenfassung: A 'Renaissance arch' located in the parish church St. John the Baptist in Siersdorf is regarded as an significant and unique object. The arch is dated around 1520 and probably donated by Conrad von Reuschenberg who was the Komtur from 1491 to 1522. The arch is assigned to the oeuvre of the Meister von Elsloo. Since the research about the carver and his surrounding is carried out in the last years frequently, it became interesting to investigate into the Renaissance arch within the context of this thesis. Many issues refer its affiliation to a bigger synthesis of construction. Analyses of its technology and its cooper techniques are implemented to find objects of comparison. Finally a restoration and conservation proposal was suggested which bases on the present condition. Furthermore a proposal for a safety installation was developed to re-ensure an installation of the arch for the future.
