n the „Westdeutschen Celluloidwerke Lank-Latum“ (West German Celluloid factory in Lank-Latum) Celluloid was produced from 1894 to 1983. A collection of Celluloid plates showing different patterns from 1950 to 1983 is preserved. Those plates are distinguished by information about ingredients and production processes that are recorded on individual file-cards. The talk is dealing with the evaluation of single selected Celluloid plates. On one hand information of the corresponding file-card are collected and on the other hand the conditions of the single plates are documented. The central question is to what extent conclusions to the condition of the celluloid from the collection of Celluloid plates of the West German Celluloid factory in Lank-Latum can be drawn from knowledge about its ingredients.
