The diploma thesis deals with the Trompe-l´oeil- painting, „Board with Teniers-etching”, unknown artist, 18th century, part of the Old Masters Paintings Collection, Kassel. The painting had been completely covered with a temporary beeswax-facing. A major emphasis of this work was directed towards removing this layer. Furthermore, additional 33 paintings of the Kassel Paintings Collection were examined, which also had wax-facings.
