This thesis deals with two Portable Writing Desks of the 19th century from the collection of the Bomann-Museum in Celle. The focus is on a detailed technological analysis of the two objects which are broken down by used materials, techniques and construction. Based on the findings, statements can be made on the conservation status which leads to considerations on damage symptoms. This is followed by a consideration about storage, handling and exhibition for the Portable Writing Desks.
