Zusammenfassung: The separation of badly damaged, blocked paper into individual pages also presents paper restoration with the challenge of assigning individual fragments. There is a lack of applicable systems that document the handling of fragments created during the separation processes. Using the example of a heavily blocked genealogical script from the Brandenburgischen Landeshauptarchiv (BLHA), methods described in the literature, including those from archaeological documentation practice, will be examined for applicability and, if suitable, integrated into the separation process. Subsequently, in the Workshop for Fire-Damaged Documents/ Academic Training Workshop of the Herzogin Anna Amalia Library (HAAB), a "field trial" will be carried out to test and examine whether the respective documentation method is suitable or whether the developed classification is a good preparation for filling in the missing parts and stabilising the fragmented sheets. The results of the stabilisation are evaluated.
