| Zusammenfassung: | In 2002 the conservator Dr. Thomas Brachert (born 1928) consigned his source references of historical art technologies in the form of ca. 60.000 file cards to Prof. Dr. Michael von der Goltz, professor for conservation sciences at the HAWK. It was Dr. Brachert’s personal wish for the file cards to be used frequently by the college’s teachers and students. However, because of its limited awareness, accessibility and organization, the file collection is rarely used. Therefore, the question about the general usefulness of the files arose. In this publication, the file collection and its history will be presented. Additionally, it is going to be researched how useful Brachert’s collection of source references actually is for students and other interested people today. The goal of this paper is to enhance functionality and convenience of the file collection. For this purpose, accessibility, organization and topicality of the files will be researched and an optimisation concept constructed if necessary. Conservatory aspects will also be considered to ensure a sustainable use of the original file cards. |
