Zusammenfassung: A baroque cabinet closet (1730/40) is introduced in the degree dissertation, that can be attributed to Sophie Dorothea of Prussia due to a monogram. This furniture is examined with respect to the used materials, the adhesive agents and the fabrication techniques. Due to the results of that examination two different uses could be verified. Once the furniture was used as a closet to collect coins in. Later it served as a cabinet closet. Furthermore a different surface coating was detected, which was applied in the 19th century. In the nineties a fire destroyed a great deal of the marquetry of the furniture. The extensive documentation of the furniture`s state is followed by recommendations for its preserving and restoring. These recommendations were already applied to the left door of the furniture.
