The flock-technique is explained as a technique where textile fibres are scattered upon a surface coated with an adhesive. The technical development and applications were abstracted from historical references from the 15th to 19th century. A group of flock-works with focus on textiles were documented and the sequences of all layers were microscopically investigated. Materials were analysed with the help of chemical and physical methods in order to collect information about the applied fibres and the adhesive layers. Finally the historic information and experimental results were compared.
