Zusammenfassung: | To the historical wooden interior of the chapel of Heidelberg Castle belongs a baroque tabernacle with rotating alcove. At present the object is stored in the main depot of the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg. The object has been dated through historical research. Technological analysis has yielded information on materials and historical techniques used in the construction. The tabernacle, which was constructed sometime between 1727-1733, attained its painted surface around 1760. Typical decorative techniques from that time are still visible today. Taking into respect the authenticity of the object, a conservation concept was developed and partially untertaken. This concept also includes a supporting construction for the object. |
