Zusammenfassung: The Raumbuch (pl. Raumbücher) is a method for a systematic survey of the interior, by which the interior is described room by room and surface by surface. The method was developed in Germany by Wolf Schmidt for monument preservation in the seventies and eighties. Today the method is well established in expert groups. However, in literature the digital Raumbuch is given little regard. As a result, there is no clear definition of its layout,
interpretation, and level of technical detail. The digital Raumbuch can be considered as a generic term for all Raumbücher, which are written in a software and are available on an electronic device. In this thesis, different digital Raumbücher are presented, which are commonly used. The main focus is the web databased software. Five commercially available software products are described in terms of functionality and ergonomics from the user’s perspective. Of these, two web databased software products are selected and
their application tested dependant on the version of software and the project by using a case study. As a case study, the Living Room of the Queen (Room 104) in Marienburg Castle in Pattensen has been chosen. The room was surveyed by the Raumbuch method.
