Overview:

Abstract: As a part of the Eifelmuseum The "Deutsche Schieferbergwerk" was opened in the year 2003. The museum is located in air raid shelters underneath the Genovevaburg. Some of the museum objects are exhibited in showcases because of the problematic environment with permanent high relative humidity and down dropping water. After climate measurements inside the showcases the use of phase change materials is discussed in order to compensate temperature fluctuations.
