Bernadett Freysoldt: Conservation of the left wing of the early 16th century altar piece from the church in Lindena / Condition and conservation concept of the early 16th century altar piece from the church in Lindena back

Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The aim of the conservation work was to consolidate the paint layers and to clean the surface. In the early 20th century the altar piece was restored and partly overpainted. The present state of the altar piece has been more or less accepted. The restoration work has been confined to minor interventions. The prepared concept for conservation and restoration treatment of the altar wing might serve as a basis for further treatment of the entire altar piece.
The theoretical part of the diploma thesis examines the entire altar piece of the church in Lindena. It offers a general concept for the conservation and restoration treatment.
