Overview:

Abstract: Several aspects were featured in the diploma thesis: the conservation of the museum object – the Holy Ghost. The originally dove was in an extreme friable, fragmentary condition. It had to be conserved with laminated adhesions of epoxy resin, carbon fibre fabric, in parts with metal interlinings and special supports. A plexiglass structure and a textile background were designed for the museum display. The historic surfaces of the nimbus and attributes of the figures, all made out of copper were cleaned with laser. An artificial Brochanite patina was applied to exposed parts. A replacement copy was made from the original dove using an electroplating process intended to be mounted for outdoor exibition.
