Abstract: | The stony Holy Sepulcre in Constance is one of the famost monuments of german Early-Gotic. Because of lack of sources, there is many speculation of the date of origin, builder, and his original function. In the middle of the sixties the monument was relativ considerately restored and uncovered. However, the knowldge, gained in this time, seems to be on this day sight very inconsitant and douptful. Truth an atr-technological inventory with especially regard to the pain-layer, the author tries to work on a new formulation for the arthistorical-science as well as to extand the very few knowldge till now of medieavel stone-sculptures at a prominent example from the thirteen century. |
