Overview:

Abstract: In this master’s thesis, selected backfill mortars for the conservation of texture-parallel delamination on red colored, variegated sandstone under the influence of mica are analyzed comparatively. The weathering phenomenon, causation of the weathering and the influence of the mica on the delamination are depicted and common restoration and conservation measures are explained.
In the experimental section, requirements for backfill mortars, a preservation model, evaluation criteria are formulated, the investigated conservation materials introduced and the methods of application of composite specimen described. Afterwards, properties of fresh und hardened mortars are investigated, tensile-strength and water- permeability measurement carried out and the results debated.
