Abstract: The practical part of this work deals with the examination, conservation and restoration of a painting from a buddhist temple in Korea. The focal point in the conservation was to consolidate the chalking painting layer. The approach of the restoration was discussed against the background as a liturgical object. In the theoretical part the production and painting technique was examined, as well as compared with other sources and also imitated in practical tests.
