Abstract: The diploma thesis deals with the examination, conservation and restauration of the painting „Heinrich der Fromme“, created by Christoph Lindemann round about the year 1616. Nowadays the Painting belongs to the „Stadt- und Bergbaumuseum Freiberg“.
The original montage of the canvas on the ornamental frame exists no longer.
It was aimed to get the painting back into a stretchable condition.
The method of stretching in consideration of the original montage was discussed in the theoretical work.
