Abstract: The Thesis includes the art-technological and conservation technical investigation of a mediaeval altarpiece from the church in Dorfchemnitz. Practical work focuses in the reduction of larger, which are cause of conservational problems and impair the aesthetic of the Retabel. The handling with losses is prepared with sample surfaces. After conservation and restoration, the retabel will be shown in the church again. A suitable location and a new form of presentation are proposed.
