Overview:

Abstract: The topic of this diploma thesis are 16 wooden fragments of an organ‐prospectus from 1625 of the
„Barfüßerkirche“ in Erfurt, which were built from the brothers Hans and Paul Friedemann. The basis
of the diploma thesis is the thesis of the 7th semester, which was also concerned with these
fragments.
In the diploma thesis the analyses of the 7th semester were continued, especially the analyses on the
inventory and his condition as well as investigation of the resources in consideration of the history of
the prospect and the executive artists.
The applied part of the diploma thesis was the realisation of a conservation‐ and restorationconception
on three selected fragments. Finally, on the basis of these exemplary conservation/
restoration, a conception of measures for all the fragments of the organ‐prospectus could be
rendered. Completing possibilities of suspension and presentation were made.
