Abstract: For the conservation and restoration of the glass-find from the excavation in 2012 and 2013 in Isny, a concept for dealing with multiple finds is to be found. This should also include a concept for the presentation of fragmentary objects for an exhibition which is planned for 2015.
Since there is to this day no ideal solution in the restoration of glass available which would work in every situation, the various bonding technologies are presented and the advantages and disadvantages of the adhesives are being discussed. For the restoration of the glass objects, the method of infiltration-gluing with the epoxy-resin Hxtal-NYL-1 seems to be the most suitable.
For the concept of the presentation of the fragmentary objects, the various options for gap-filling and assembling are being illustrated. The solution of producing a backing out of sheets of Paraloid seems to be promising, but would have to be tested in practical realisation. Also, because this method would not be practical in every case, the presentation by assembling the objects with acrylic glass is also being considered.
