A mid 18th-century chinese wallpaper on silk (Schloss Dyck, Neuss, Germany) has been thoroughly documented and analysed for a possible future remount. The chinese export-wallpaper is handpainted without use of matrix, instead the painting was executed using models which have a long tradition in chinese art (e.g. Geng zhi tu). A concept for the future remount was developed, considering damages, material-stress and the present climate. Both recommended methods (e.g. karibari) are wellknown in the field of paperconservation, and are chosen because of their good characteristics by changes of relative humidity.
