Abstract: | The following thesis deals with the development of thin layer chromatography methods for the proof of pesticide residues of different wood preservatives found in contaminated wooden artefacts. The aim was to find a low cost and quick method that can be used by conservators without a highly mechanistic effort. With the aid of the high-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) an effective method could be found that provides a determination of the most frequently used agents in the field of cultural heritage (Cl-N, DDT, γ-HCH, PCP, Permethrin und Deltamethrin). Based on the results a brief introduction for conservators about the way to proof these selected agents was developed. |
