Zusammenfassung: This master thesis focuses on the detection, documentation and material-related analyses of a Roman enameled bottle that is now being stored at the LVR-LandesMuseum Bonn. Based upon the results of different optical documentation methods as well as analytical procedures in the form of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy the knowledge on late antique enameled glasses that have been scarcely examined will be expanded. In the synopsis conclusions on the manufacturing process, the original appearance and the vessel’s history can be drawn. The profound study concentrates on the development of a conservation concept for stabilizing the delaminated glass corrosion layers that are responsible for the objects condition. Different mediums have been tested for their suitability. As the most common medium in glass consolidation the ethylmethacrylate copolymer Paraloid B-72 should be compared to the hybrid polymer Ormocer® OR-G and the nanomolecular structured aluminium complex CLOISIL A18, primarily by the help of a scanningelectron microscope, to evaluate and compare their suitability on the glass.
