| Zusammenfassung: | This master´s thesis deals with the cataloguing of a complex of 103 dancing hats and attachments from the Bismarck Archipelago, the composition and preservation of which are unknown, which were brought to the former Völkerkundemuseum Hamburg with the Hamburg South Sea Expedition between 1908 and 1910. After the complex has been indexed in terms of its composition, its condition, the inventory information it contains, and its classification in a historical and ethical context, a plan of action will be drawn up to prepare for relocation in the course of a depot move of the complex. A concrete proposal for the spatial implementation as well as an estimate of the required working time are to offer the most realistic planning possible for the implementation in the museum. Particularly in view of the increasing public attention with regard to collections that originate from a context of injustice due to colonial power structures, this work can offer a basic guideline for the conservation of large complexes from colonial contexts. |
