Zusammenfassung: The incised plaster murals created by the former students Abed al Rahman Abdi and Sami Hakki in the HfBK Dresden are one of the last preserved in-situ legacies of the artistic education of wall painters at the academy of Fine Arts Dresden between 1950 and 1990. As such, the murals are not only signi_cant from the perspective of the academy’s history, but also represent concrete references between the academy and art in public space, in the context of percent for art. In Dresden this was characterized by, among other things, the extracurricular activities of the specialized class for wall painting and sculpture.
The exposure of the murals to moisture and salts in conjunction with the technical properties of the incised-plaster technique, and the absence of conservation measures, has led to signi_cant damage over the years. The aim of this diploma thesis is the development of a conservation and restoration concept for the protection and long-term preservation of the two murals. Furthermore, their technological and historical background, as well as their signi_cance, will be addressed
