Zusammenfassung: Plywood is a modern material widely used in industrial furniture and case production. Its use begins in an expanded range in the 2nd half of 19th century. Conservators have not paid much attention to objects made of plywood yet, it was rarely examined and seldomly concepts were worked out for its preservation. The first part of this diploma paper introduces the plywood technology, especially from the 30's to the 50's of 20th century. The production of plywood, its material properties as well as its processing and refining its surface is described with regard to the production to radiocases. The second part contains the examination and documentation of the three radiocases made by SABA in a chronological order. The results are summarized by comparing the cases. Finally proposals for a conservation treatment as well as for preservation are made. This paper is supposed to introduce the material plywood under technological and conserving aspects, which are a prerequisite for future preservation.
