Zusammenfassung: The Wasserkunst in Wismar from 1602 is a building like a pavilion with twelve sides in style of the
Dutch Renaissance. The twelve corners consist of slim hermpillar made of sandstone. In the course of
a reconstruction in the 70s of the 20th century the original hermpillar were removed and replaced by
copies. The originals took different ways of treatment, were separated and placed on different places
in Wismar. It followed that the original hermpillar have manifold damages and this calls for action.
Within the scope of the dissertation was a concept of measures developed for the further treatment
of the original hermpillar. In the first place was made a sample axis on one pillar. That for this pillar
developed concept of measures is not unrestricted transferable to the other pillars. In the developed
concept are measures of preservation important, because there is no decision about the future
treatment of the hermpillars (presentation, place). Measures of restoration are further possible. In
use was a system based on silicic acid ester to be next to the material of the hermpillars.
