The object was not in danger of losing substance. However, some important conservation measures and exemplary restorations were nevertheless carried out. All instruments contained in this medical case were tabularly recorded. By using these data and comparing the case with similar objects, it became clear that despite its young age the object is already very rare. Regardless the difficult history of the object, it is surprisingly complete and well preserved. The discovery and the analysis of the pest-infestation were an important information for the preservation of the entire collection. The significance of the storage conditions and the options for optimisation were discussed. The surveillance of the climatic conditions will be continued and documented.
