Zusammenfassung: In the collection of the Veste Coburg in Bavaria, Germany especially the objects of the artillery made of wood in combination with metal have corroded surfaces and furthermore have been treated with pesticides. The work gives information about the historical background, the primary stated place, the state of the materials of the objects and analysed material- and air pollutants. An analyse of the corrosion products of the steel shows that chloride is contained and thus it is looked for sources of the element and obvious reactions of these to the object material in order to exclude further damage. Furthermore the analysed pesticides are presented and the possible ways to bring the pesticides into the wood. To produce a comparison between the present corrosion and a synthetically corrosion on five types of metal and six types of pesticides tests are done. It is obvious that „Xylamon Hell“ (in english „bright“) is the most reactive to metals especially on two tested types of steel in two different types of tests. To come to a solution for interrupting the corrosive process via the vaporous or the direct way the pesticides in the wood should be reduced. Test with solvents for washing „Xylamon Hell“, „Hylotox 59“ and „Kreosot“ out are done, the results show that the pesticides easiest bond to the material react to the two usable scenarios. „Xylamon Hell“ and “Hylotox 59” can be reduced the most by the used Cyclohexanon.
