Zusammenfassung: The object of this work is the 1U11 single-circuit
receiver. The main focus is on the restoration of
the broken Bakelite housing. For a practical
treatment in the sense of conservation, the
device was first documented, examined and
presented with regard to its construction,
condition and materials, as well as in its context
of origin and specific mode of operation. The
receiver, a product of East Berlin's industrial
culture, was also associated with German radio
history. This work thus treats radio in a double
sense - as a device and as radio culture.
