Zusammenfassung: | The results of the first research on the working processes in the studio of the painter Johann Bartscher (1846-1921) and the remains of his artistic career will be presented. He can be classified as an artist of the ecclesiastic historism. The thesis provides general insights into the organisation and working processes of his christian-catholic painting studio within the cultural historical context. Furthermore it will be pointed out which other artworks Bartscher used as examples for his production of the way of the cross and to what extend he copied them. The techniques Bartscher used to transfer the compositions of these examples into his own work are described as well. A concept for inventory, systematization and appropriate storage of the until now neglected remains of Bartschers artistic career are also introduced in this thesis. |
