Abstract: A polychrome wooden sculpture „ Sitting apostel”, around 1460/70 in the possession of St. Nikolaikirche, Bad Wilsnack has been examined regarding wood and polychromy and its condition was recorded. The treatment mainly included the consolidation of the polychromy, in particular of the flaking paint at the back of the sculpture and the removing of the overpaint. The examination results and the conservation and restoration treatment are documented in written form and by illustrations.
