Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: In the parish church of St. Laurentius in Pegau, Saxony, the stone tomb sculpture of Wiprecht of Groitzsch can be found. The high-quality sculptured work from the first half of the 13th century was reframed with wax colour and decorated with gemstones. All damages turned out to be caused
by the extremely high humidity and the high humidity values of the masonry. On the basis of These findings, a conservation and restoration concept is developed focusing on the improvement of
the extremely difficult indoor climate conditions.
