Abstract: The paper describes the artistic and technical development of the contemporary German artist Markus Lüpertz. Materials, techniques and recipes of the artistic process are given and explained. Occurring damages of paintings and unstable materials are shown and put in context to used painting recipes.
The work includes an inventory of the artists studio in Düsseldorf and a collection of sample materials.
