Abstract: | The preservation of ethnographic objects requires the consideration of a multitude of aspects raised by the various stakeholders involved. The need for a broad interdisciplinary collaboration is not yet seen throughout the field. In this thesis the development towards a methodology is demonstrated, focussing on the description and evaluation of the project "EthCon - Ethics and the Conservation of Ethnographic Objects", which could be an element of the process. Being funded by the ERASMUS Programme this European university project dealt with the teaching of ethical and methodological aspects in the conservation of ethnographic artefacts. Moreover this work shows how could be proceeded to achieve the goal of a balanced procedure for the preservation of these significant cultural objects. |
