Abstract: | Pre-coated tissues have become an increasing importance in the field of restoration. The thesis contains a detailed description of experiences in their use. Starting with a brief outline covering the historical development of pre-coated tissues the paper presents different defini-tions of material and their advantages and disadvantages as far as their application is con-cerned. Findings about their practical use on the basis of a standardized survey have been collected and analysed from widespread publications. Two different groups of materials are in the centre of attention: papers re-activated by moisture and by temperature. The review is focused on the question whether general principles for working with pre-coated tissues and comparative evaluations can be derived from the present state of publications. Finally, open questions and ideas about further research approaches and surveys are outlined. |
