Abstract: Inspiration for this work were –not yet investigated- ceiling paintings of the Parlatorium in the premises of the Landesmuseum of Braunschweig. The museum is sited in the former convent buildings of St. Aegidien. This bachelor thesis exclusively deals with the object analysis of the ceiling paintings. In this respect the former dungeon is considered particularly. In the context of the investigation, the findings and damage profiles of selected areas are recorded and documented. The aim of this work is to gain for understanding of technological features and the reconstruction of the craft orientated approach. Further to gain for experience when collecting the archival material and literature related to the construction and restoration history of the paintings.
