Isabell Lojek: Possibilities and limitations of mobile analysis in order to clarify restorative questions on site back

Overview:

Abstract: This master thesis provides the reader with a view on the possibilities and boundaries of mobile research for clarification of possible on-site issues, that conservators may encounter.
The thesis is divided into 3 parts. Initially, a survey will be conducted with conservators from 13 different fields. Which will be then evaluated.
Subsequently diverse quantitative and qualitive research techniques for the identification of different materials and biocides, which can be applied on-site, will be introduced.
Eventually, an “on-site research response kit” will be assembled and the possibilities and boundaries of mobile analysis assessed.
