Abstract: | The practical part describes the analysis and examination, conception as well as conservation and restoration of the canvas painting “Two Common Marmosets with a Bohemian Waxwing” by an unknown artist of the 17th century from the collection of the hunting château of Moritzburg/Saxony. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the analysis of climate data measured from autumn 2008 to spring 2009 in the eastern staircase of the baroque hunting château Moritzburg. These data give an impression of the climate situation on site and are the basis for further research on feasible materials for protecting the reverse side of paintings in the building, which is used as a museum and not air-conditioned. |
Keywords: | Tear bonding, strip-lining filling, reconstruction of original format, canvas extension, reverse side protection, climate measurements in exhibition rooms without air-conditioning |
